Progressive Vacations and Conservative Citations

By Seth | July 12, 2007

Heading Left on Blog Talk Radio is on vacation tomorrow, so there won’t be a show. James Boyce will return next week with more on the best of the progressive blogosphere. In the meantime, you can take the opportunity to catch up on past episodes at the show’s archives!

In other news…

What a week it’s been for conservatives! Louisiana Republican Senator David Vitter gets outed in not just one, but two prostitution scandals.

But Vitter wasn’t the only one getting into a bit of trouble with prostitution. In Florida, Republican State Legislator Bob Allen was arrested for prostituting himself.

And, in addition to the weirdness factor, Bob Allen’s arrest is also news because his arrest is the latest nail in the coffin of John McCain’s rapidly sinking presidential campaign. It turns out, Bob Allen was a co-chair of Senator McCain’s legislative leadership team in Florida.

In non-creepy-sex crimes news, (but still Republican crimes, which seems to be quickly becoming redundant), Josh Marshall at Talking Points Memo gets a tip that President Bush’s ordering former staff to defy Congressional subpoenas may, in fact, be a felony.
