Heading Left with Jeffrey Feldman from Frameshop and Eli from Firedoglake
By Lowell | May 4, 2007
From Noon to 1 pm eastern time today (Friday), Jeffrey Feldman and Eli from Firedoglake were the special guests on our Heading Left Blog Talk Radio show. Among other things, they discussed the “netroots” we keep hearing about, including the article by Jonathan Chait in The New Republic entitled “The Left’s New Machine: How the Netroots Became the Most Important Mass Movement in U.S. Politics.”
What have these guys been up to recently?
Eli’s recent articles cover Alberto Gonzales (“Gonzo’s Gonzo”), a Democratic President in 2008 (“The Future”), “Right Wing Action Heroes”, and how “[t]he American people are finally getting a good look at what happens when you vote based solely on personality or gossip or party loyalty or smearmongering” (“Is Our Electorate Learning? And The Post I’m Not Smart Enough To Write“).
Jeffrey Feldman of Frameshop fame is on a book tour. The book, written by Feldman and George Lakoff (of “Don’t Think of an Elephant” fame), is entitled “Framing the Debate: Famous Presidential Speeches and How Progressives Can Use Them to Change the Conversation (And Win Elections).” The authors are at Powell’s Bookstore in Portland, Oregon. In coming weeks, they’ll be in San Francisco, Berkely, Los Angeles, Tempe, Minneapolis, Burlington (NH), and Denver. Catch them in one of those cities!
P.S. On the show, co-host James Boyce slammed the MSM as lazy (”they sit in the tent with their feet up and watch TV”) and not very good. The other guests joined in. If you’re an MSM reporter, you might want to avoid this show. Actually, come to think of it, you really should LISTEN to this show!
