Monday Progressive Blog Update
By Lowell | April 30, 2007
What’s are people talking about in the progressive blogosphere today?
*Daily Kos’ “BarbinMD” talks about yet “another failure by the Maliki government to live up to the promises George Bush made on their behalf,” and how once again “there will be no consequences for the failures of the Iraq government.” BarbinMD concludes that “[t]his what the Republican Party will be endorsing this week when they stand behind George Bush’s veto.”
*Taylor Marsh talks about the “DC Madam” who is now “stepping up and speaking out” about a major sex scandal developing in Washington, DC.
*Matthew Yglesias discusses the Washington Post story on Hillary Clinton advisor Mark Penn. Yglesias “dispute[s] the idea that he’s brilliant,” calling Penn a “clever businessman who’s made a good deal of money for himself, but so have lots of other consultants.”
*At MyDD, Matt Stoller has a fascinating article called “Who Controls the New Economy?” According to Stoller, “The old Bush-Nixon regime is dead, now the question is who controls the future.” Stoller adds that it’s “our job” to “make sure that it’s the public that controls this new economy,” not the “old and powerful coalitions - the Tom Friedman’s, the Mark Penn’s, the NFIB, Rupert Murdoch…”
*At FireDogLake, Christy Hardin Smith has a diary called “Blind Faith,” in which she describes “the GOP caucus” as “huddled together in a terrified little herd between a failing Republican presidency, their need to save their own sorry ‘yes man’ asses, and a rabid constituency that they have trained to think only between the “must win Iraq” blinders.”
Great stuff on the progressive blogosphere today. Check it out at a blog near you! ![]()
