McCain “Walks Freely” in Baghdad…With 100 Soldiers, Helicopters, etc.
By Lowell | April 2, 2007
This story would be funny if it weren’t so pathetic; John McCain hasn’t just jumped the shark, he’s jumped every other sentient lifeform at this point, including his own (former) integrity. Ugh.
Anyway, here’s some commentary on McCain’s latest “straight talk” about walking “freely” in Baghdad with 100 soldiers, 3 Blackhawks, 2 Apaches, 1 flack jacket, etc.
*Matthew Yglesias writes, “That John McCain now feels he should be telling easily debunked, bald-faced lies about Iraq really does make you wonder.”
*Pam’s House Blend says that “McCain needs small army to tour Baghdad market.”
*Firedoglake comments that “Good ole John McCain went shopping today with his buddy Lindsay Graham… and while we know that Lindsay scored 5 … count ‘em 5 … rugs in the …. marketplace for only $5, John it seems just felt like selling us more of his happy talk.”
*Finally, Kagro X at Daily Kos notes acidly that McCain “couldn’t stop lying if you wired his jaw shut.”
