Going, Going, Gone-zales?
By Lowell | March 20, 2007
The Politico reports that the Bush White House is seeking a replacement for disgraced Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. On a related note, see this morning’s Washington Post story on the Justice Department ranking special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald, leading the CIA leag investigation, as one of several attorney having “not distinguished themselves.” Here’s just a small sampling of commentary in the progressive blogosphere on all this:
*Hunter at Daily Kos writes, “Gonzales has few DC friends other than Bush himself, and as more and more information comes out about the firings, the scandal continues to deepen.”
*Taylor Marsh says that “something smells” and that “the hits just keep on comin’.”
*MyDD predicts that “this story will remain one of the leading news items in the days, and perhaps even weeks to come — even as the administration trots out belated confession after belated confession from accused terrorist masterminds.”
