“Things MyDD is Not”

By Lowell | March 19, 2007

MyDD has a very interesting post about what that site is and is not. The eight MyDD rules are that the blog:

*” is not Dailykos”

*”is not an open, community discussion forum”

*”is not a general topic, current events blog”

*”is not a place where we talk to low information voters, or to swing voters”

*”is not a place for ‘balance.’”

*”is not a media entity where non-Democratic candidates are endorsed, even in the diaries and comments.”

*”is not a place that tolerates 9/11 conspiracy theories”

Finally, MyDD “does not operate for free.”

There’s more detail on all these rules, of course, and it’s very interesting. What I’m wondering is whether or not other progressive blogs agree with these rules. At m blog, Raising Kaine, I’d say that we follow some of these rules but not others. Yes, we’re a strongly partisan Democratic blog, but we also allow “swing voters” and even Republicans to express their views. And sometimes we deviate from Virginia politics or even U.S. politics into other, “general topic,” “current events” issues.

What about your blog?  What rules, if any, do you follow?
