Hillary Clinton’s New York Times Interview on Iraq
By Lowell | March 15, 2007
There’s plenty of reaction in the progressive blogosphere to Sen. Hillary Clinton’s interview with the New York Times on Iraq. For instance:
*Matthew Yglesias notes that “If Clinton really lived up to her reputation as an unusually “calculating” politician, I think she would have simply kept this under wraps until after the primaries (or maybe even after the general election) but most of the time she’s pretty clear about where she stands.”
*The Agonist writes that “This is a recipe for war without end” and adds that “with this interview, it is now impossible to say that she is anything but for the war.”
*Matt Stoller at MyDD argues that “Hillary Clinton’s promise to continue the Iraqi occupation will become the Democratic Party platform if she is the nominee” and that “This is a very dangerous roadmap for the Democrats. ”
*The Albany Project calls Sen. Clinton’s position “a loser for us as a nation” and concludes, “if I needed another reason to ignore fundraising emails from Hillary, Inc…”
