*Shakespeare’s Sister writes that Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE), who announced today that he wasn’t announcing for President - but not ruling it out either - “talks a good game, an independent-sounding game, especially when he’s criticizing the Bush administration, but he’s as partyline rightwing as they come.”
*Booman comments on David Brooks column declaring neoliberalism “officially over,” writing:
Brooks’ eulogy is premature. Neoliberalism is far from dead. When we see Hillary Clinton fail to capture the Democratic nomination, we’ll know that Brooks is right. Until then…keep fighting.
*The Agonist comments on Halliburton’s announced move to Dubai, highlighting Sen. Patrick Leahy’s comment:
This is an insult to the U.S. soldiers and taxpayers” At the same time they’ll be avoiding U.S. taxes, I’m sure they won’t stop insisting on taking their profits in cold, hard, U.S. cash.
