So Bad He’s Goode!

Rep. Virgil Goode (R-VA) demonsrates once again that no matter how dumb, ignorant, and hateful you think he is, he can actually get worse.
*Eric Kleefeld at TPM Cafe comments on Goode’s perceptive (not!) observation that U.S. money may soon be stamped, “In Muhammed We Trust.” Unless, of course, we surge/augment/esclate in Iraq.
*Josh Marshall at Talking Points Memo notes that “Muslims don’t worship Muhammad, and wouldn’t want “In Muhammad We Trust” stamped on their money, either.” But then, Cletus…er, Virgil wouldn’t know about those infidel religions, now would he?
*Wonkette calls Goode a “passionate defender of the nickel.” Hey, who’s going to defend the dime?!? 
*The Moderate Voice writes that Virgil Goode “took a massive step backwards in his quest to become a sane human being today.” Heh.
*Kagro X at Daily Kos uses a cuckoo clock to illustrate his point that Virgil Goode is not, well, totally lucid.
*Waldo Jaquith, a poor suffering Democrat who lives and blogs in Goode’s House district, writes that Goode “wants everybody to know that JFK was assassinated by space aliens, there are spiders in Bubble Yum, and Mikey is, in fact, undead, thanks to the gallons Pop Rocks that were pumped from his stomach.” Hey, you mean there AREN’T spiders in Bubble Yums? Cool!

And yet, if you click around VA blogs, you’ll find a shockingly large number of people saying “Virgil speaks for me!”
Some people do, indeed, get the government they deserve . . .

Yeah, those are the right wingnuts of Virginia. Wonderful, huh? But something tells me they’re in every state in America; does that mean we ALL get the government we deserve?
